Refinance your home loan — see if you could pay less

Rates have moved a lot in 2026. If you haven't reviewed your loan recently, you could be paying more than you need to. Check your options in about a minute, then talk it through with a broker before you decide anything.

Check my options

Checking your options doesn't affect your credit file. A credit check only happens if you decide to apply — and we'll tell you before it does.

When it can make sense

  • Your fixed rate is ending, or you've rolled onto a higher revert rate
  • Your rate is well above what new customers are being offered
  • You want an offset account, to split your loan, or to change your term
  • Your property has gone up in value, so your loan-to-value ratio (LVR) may have dropped

What to watch out for

  • Break costs if you leave a fixed rate early, plus discharge and application fees
  • Lenders mortgage insurance (LMI) again if you'll owe more than 80% of the property's value
  • Lenders test you at your rate plus a 3% buffer, so your borrowing power may be lower than you expect
  • A cashback offer can be outweighed by a higher rate over the life of the loan

  3. 03Decide with a brokerA broker reviews your file before anything is lodged. You only apply if the numbers genuinely work for you.

Common questions

Will checking my options affect my credit score?

No. Checking what you could qualify for uses the information you give us and doesn't put an enquiry on your credit file. A lender only runs a credit check if you decide to apply, and we'll tell you before that happens.

How much does it cost to refinance?

It depends on your current lender and loan. Common costs are a discharge fee, government registration fees, and break costs if you're on a fixed rate. Some lenders also charge an application or valuation fee. We show these upfront so you can see whether switching is worth it.

How long does refinancing take?

Often two to six weeks from application to settlement, depending on the lender, valuation and how quickly documents come in.

Can I refinance if my property value has dropped?

Possibly. If you owe more than 80% of the current value, a new lender may require lenders mortgage insurance, which can make switching uneconomical. We'll tell you if that's the case.

No obligation, and no effect on your credit file.
